Product Introduction
The AE50 is an asymmetric pattern aimed at mid and upper-range sedans, where the buyer wants stability and a feeling of safety more than lap times. The two halves work differently on purpose: the inner side uses siped blocks to resist irregular wear, the outer side uses large blocks plus a band of interlocking blocks Yokohama calls the power shoulder, and together they hold the car steady under cornering and braking. Two lightning-shaped grooves, one large and one small, raise edge length without softening the block, which is what keeps wet driving confidence from costing dry rigidity. The profile is shaped for this class of car: the sidewall curve is tuned to carry the weight of a heavier sedan, so structural rigidity comes from the carcass shape rather than extra rubber.
